BIOGRAPHY
Marvita (Emma) McCown RN LMHC
A native of California, I completed my education in Iowa. I received my Nursing Diploma from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing. At Drake University I completed a Bachelor's in the Behavior of the Adolescent, a Master's in Health and a Master's in Counseling. I am licensed in Iowa as both an RN and LMHC. My work experience includes in-hospital psychiatric nursing, as well as assessing for emergent/urgent mental health referrals. Prior to going into private practice, I worked in a psychiatric clinic counseling individuals, couples and families. I studied EMDR in Los Angeles and Chicago. I specialize in EMDR & DBT and am a part of a 3 Principles Practice.
